What does x /SECOND/LIMIT mean?

rate limited

When browsing the accredit.ly endpoint documentation, you may see that some of them have “x /SECOND/LIMIT” in their details. This means the endpoint is rated limited to that specific number of requests from your given IP address in that time window. In the example above, the GET /account/verify endpoint is limited to 50 requests a second.

If you exceed this limit, the api will then return a http status code of 429 until the time has elapsed, at which point the api will again begin to return correctly.
